The Live.Laugh.Love Fair

As many of you know by now, The Live.Laugh.Love fair opened up just the other day. It's a large fair, full of many talented designers and builders - run by Cindy Lu and Riley Sapphire. It's running for two weeks, with many events planned, from singers performing, to picnics, a silent auction, a live auction, an adoption day and so much more. This entire event, this year is benefitting 'Austism Speaks' to raise awareness for such disorders. So far they have raised almost 200k in lindens. Below is just one of the many amazing items available at the fair. Over the course of a week, I'll be blogging various outfit from the various kid stores, as well as showing off some other fun items that I've picked up! It's gonna be a very fashionable and fun filled week for me! Make sure you come to the fair and check it out, donate and have fun! Oh and make sure you stop by my store as well!

vintage. my secret garden

Woohoo for blogging randomly and failing on keeping up with the color challenge! But right now I have something extra cute to share! The other day, i was checking my flickr and a lady named Mimi Gaufrette had added me. Me doing what I usually do when people add me, went to look at her photostream and I saw that she had these adorable children clothes that had a certain vintage style to them. Now as many of you know, I don't often wear kid clothes, as I like to mix and match with big people clothes and such. One thing I LOVE is the vintage style. it will always be one of my favorite styles, and as you can imagine, me finding a vintage store that had clothes for kids just had me super happy. I had commented on one of the photos, and the owner later found me in world and messaged me and oh my gosh was she nice. And so all of these led me to here, with my best friend, Jennah - showing off two of the outfits that Mimi sells for children. If you like anything to do with the vintage style, then I highly suggest you visit. She also sells clothes for adults as well! (Note my hair... yeah i plan on going on and on about that hair next post)

52 Weeks of Color Challenge - Alice Blue

Hello! I've decided to redo the Alice Blue week, as I found something one better, and much more me then some frilly poofy dress! Now let's all ignore the fact that I am now three weeks behind (Maybe even 4, i have no clue at this point) and try and get on with this cute little post. I recently was searching the marketplace for god knows what and I came across this kids store called Clair de Lune. Now as many of my loved ones know, I don't often wear kid clothes, and if I do, I mod it and add my own flair to it... but this store has to be one of the more original and cutest little kids store I've found and to make it all better, all her outfits are around 50 linden! The style of the store is a bit vintage, artsy and just plain adorable. I am urging all you kids out there who like to shop to check this store out and I promise you will not be disappointed. Myself, I've bought more then half the store so far and my favorite outfit from it has to be this one. It's so very me, and goes with my new favorite hair very well.

With Halloween just a few days away, we have stores coming out with so many goodies to celebrate, and there is such a wide variety of things as well! One of these stores is Sleeping Koala, owned by the fabulous SleepingKoala Resident. I had the honor of being able to blog some of her new stuff that she has made for Halloween! Squee! Thank you Miss Evelyn! Everyone knows how much I love Halloween, despite my severe lack of Halloween posts this year (BAD NARA, BAD!) But I've not had many things to blog this year that I didn't already blog last year in my old blog! Today I chose an old costume however, to go with her items - I still adore this costume just as much as when I bought it! So along with the costume, I have a cute candy bucket, that says 'GIMMIE CANDY NAO!' and I love it, the textures look nice and there are several varients of this bucket as well... some with candy in it, some with pumpkins in it, different holds for them... The owner thought of everything! Also available at her store, is the super cute Apple Bucket, with several sitting poses... You all l know how much I love props, furniture and decorations, so you can imagine how much I love this prop. Also note the cute chunk bracelets in Halloween colors. Also another great thing from Sleeping Koala! All items are available at the Trick or Treat Family Event happening tomorrow!

Oh also... in other news. I was messing around with my Second Life settings, in a better attempt to make my blog all nice looking. I tried shadows! They come out decently, considering my graphics card isn't really all that amazing. I'm not sure if I will continue with this style, but it's something I tried out. I followed Luna Jubilee's awesome blog bootcamp about photography, windlight settings and other such things, and they really helped me! Check it out here!

Oh gosh, good morning... or good afternoon everyone! What a nice lazy day it is! Donchu just love rainy days where you can stay in your pajamas and relax? That's what I've been doing today! So I've taken this nice relaxing time, and treated myself to some shopping with Nara. I've been spending so much on uploading and building supplies, that I've barely been shopping this season! I revisited one of the first hair stores I ever found in Second Life, Kin, where there amazingly cute hairs are only 100 linden! I ran around The Dressing Room as well, to check out the deals, and spotted this cute sweater from Milk Motion, one of my favorite stores, where I always try to make the clothes work for my child self! The end result? Cuteness overload in the style of a traveling musician. According to my Aunty I was killing her with cuteness. Heh that means I did well on my style for today, eh?

Well hello everyone! I'm back and I've decided to finally get back into blogging again... even though every time I say that, it fails horribly. Well this time I will try my best... not saying I never tried my best before but uh... yeah let's move on. Today I'm so super excited to show you Oceanside's new cheer uniform, created by Rory Larnia and Heath Pevensey. Oh and before I go on and on about how cute and amazing they are, let me express my excitement about being able to join the cheer team! YAY. YAY. YAY. YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY. It's so strange to think of myself as a cheerleader, ya'know? I'm anything but girly, or preppy. I'm more of an arty boho nerd girl type, ya know? But I really do adore this type of stuff. I remember when OSE first started and I was in the dance team for a long time. I loved it so much, and I was sad when I couldn't be in it anymore due to my real life. But fast forward to the new year of OSE where I got up the courage, went outside of my bubble, and tried out for the cheer team! It's such a new experience for me, and I know it's gonna be worth it in the end. I really hope to make some new friends, lose my little shy bubble and just make some amazing memories. OKAY. Now to stop rambling about cheering and ramble about the uniform! I actually don't have much to say about it... it's super cute, the design and the use of the school colors are amazingly done, and the quality is just... AH. I LOVE IT. So kudos to Rory and Heath for an amazing job. The cheerleaders are gonna be so cute when it comes time to do events! Let's hear it for OCEANSIDE!

Well kids, it's that time of year again! After months of swimming and having fun with friends in the glorious freedom of summer, we've finally come down to the last week before the dreaded school starts... ah but who am I kidding? We Second Life kids love school! So while we've all been twiddling our thumbs, trying to will this week to go by faster so that we can start, I've decided to do a little post about school and different kids thoughts on it! Well, Ms.Tabi was one of my teachers last year, so, I knew I wanted to be in her class again. She was really good with me and sort of took me under her wings and watched out for me a lot too. And, I was in Ms.Debra's animal adventure class this summer and really enjoyed her class so knew I wanted to be in her's again too. Ms.Night is a super special friend of mine that always watches out for me too.Ms.Tori I decided to take for something different and new to challenge myself with so I tried some thing new with someone new which is super hard for me.

Are you going to join any after school activities? 

Not sure yet depends on their times probably, with four classes and ballet I am pretty booked but if they are at the right times I might try one. If i do probably soccer or swimming.

What are you looking forward to most?

Everything! But mostly being around my friends again :) I hate summer it's so lonely, hehe.

What are your goals for the year?

Mostly to try to break out of my shell a little bit, make some new friends, raise my hand in class more, talk more, and not hide off by myself at recess. But also to do the very best I can to get straight A's too, I'm sort of a nerd that way.  LoL!

Why did you choose them?
I chose it because of the class times and didn't want to overcommit or stress myself out.  I don't ever want to be the kid that's never there, that always has an excuse not to be there. So I tried to be conservative in order to ensure I'd be there for every class I could!
Are you going to join any after school activities? 
I'm going to try! I actually don't know much about the extracurricular activities but, once I get more information on it, I'm going to look into what I can do for my school and myself.


What are you looking forward to most?
Meeting my teacher and other students, I tend to be introverted but I'm looking forward to trying to excel in class and make some good friends while I'm there.
What are your goals for the year?
My goals for this year would to be to be involved in the classroom, to be the best student I can be to make my teacher, mom, and myself proud of whatever I've done. I also want to make some friends and be more social-- I'm kind of shy and don't want to intrude so, I'm going to work on being a bit more outgoing as well!

Adventure Club (hopefully), maybe newspaper, and so far, I don't know of any of the others this term, but those are the two I'd like to be in.

Hogwarts: Your Story

Holy gosh, a Harry Potter frenzy has been going on all over the place since the last movie came out! Everywhere you look, there is something Harry Potter related! (Not that I'm complaining mind you.) We have Pottermore of course, which started it's early registration for beta users on Harry's birthday just a couple of days ago. So while we were all going crazy over that, something else popped up! Now I had known about Harry Potter RP's on Second Life for awhile, but I've always been busy with the kid world. But on plurk, I noticed my god sissy, posting about something called 'Hogwarts: Your Story'. Now me, being a giant nerd with all things Harry Potter, of course started looking it up, and finding everything out that I could about this new and exciting RP. Hogwarts: Your Story is set 20 years after the events of the Harry Potter series. There is currently a beautiful castle being built (From what I've seen on Flickr!) by a group of talented creators. The leader of the project goes by the name Hogwartsyourstory and if you look them up, you can find the group in their profile with open enrollment where you can keep updated on this upcoming rp! You will find the rules and applications in the group notices, where it asks to fill out many different things about your character. You can choose your house, your year, your age, your blood status and your wand. I sat down for hours, writing up stuff on my character, and I was more excited by the minute! By now, my plurk timeline was exploded with everyone talking about it! Many of us kid avies, are signing up for this and I'm super excited to see everyone there! I plan on doing a photo series of Evelyn's life, including pictures of her mother and father, pictures of her and her cousin and just her life leading up to her Hogwarts letter.

Her story:

Evelyn grew up a happy child, always playing with her beloved dad and befriending any animals that came by their cottage. She was often found coloring or drawing around the house, or reading in strange books in strange places. She was a quirky child, always wearing her hair in strange ways, and talking to animals, but her dad loved her dearly and all her quirks. In many ways she was her mothers daughter, with her love for art and nature, and she even had her fathers traits as well, with her love for stories. She often made up stories with her cousin, Toren and they'd draw pictures together of stories they made up. Toren had been her only friend growing up, but she never complained. Evelyn of course knew what magic was, her father had often amused her from a young age with charms and transfigurations. So when she recieved her Hogwarts letter, she couldn't of been happier that she was just like her father.

Her father's story: 

Leander 'Anders' Nightingale was from a wealthy and powerful Pureblood family. From a young age though, it was clear he was not like the rest. He had been sorted into Hufflepuff, for his kindly nature, and excelled at Transfiguration and a number of his other studies. When he finished his time at Hogwarts, he had a job lined up at the Ministry and an arranged marriage to a younger slytherin girl from a wealthy family. During one of his many ventures into the muggle world for books, he met a young muggle artist, named Melody Fray, who was working at a local bookstore. He was enchanted by her, and her by him and soon after they began to date. It wasn't soon after that he ran from his family and arranged marriage, and eloped with Melody. They moved to Greece, where the lived together for five years in happiness. However all good things must come to an end. Melody became pregnant with her first baby and due to complications and Melody's weak body, she died in childbirth. Leanders was heartbroken, but decide to instead live for his daughter, whom he named Evelyn after Melody's favorite character from a story. Soon after, Leander's moved back to the wizarding world, and found a small, cozy cottage in the countryside, where he took up writing. For many years it was just him, Evelyn and his books, but when Evelyn was just five years old, he got an unexpected vistor. His little sister. It had been years since he last seen her and he had no idea how she found him, but there she had been, holding the hand of a little boy. She begged him to take care of her son, saying that she couldn't take care of him for reasons she couldn't explain to him. Leanders, of course agreed, having always a soft spot for his little sister, who had also been different like him. She thanked him and said her last goodbyes to little Toren and then she was gone. From then on Toren lived with them and became a best friend to Evelyn.

The Many Faces of...

I'm rewriting this now that my AMP Energy has worn out and I can actually think straight instead of spitting out a rambling mess.

I've been playing this game for five and a half years now, and on friday, I hit the one year mark for my avatar, Naraelina Ordinary. Over the years, I've had many avatars, all with similar names. I was always Kaeyena, once I was Maki, and even once I was Nabai and Elphie and now I'm Naraelina and Hushed. By now many of you known me on one avatar or the other. And as a couple of you knew, back in my days of being Kaeyena, I was underage. But that was a long time ago and now I've graduated High School and I've embarked on journey of life. During all these changes I've somehow managed to stick around Second Life. The reason to stick around a game THAT long? It's simple really... I never considered Second Life a game really, but rather a world where I was accepted, where I had true friends, people who listened, people who I shared laughs and tears with. I was able to be myself and break out of my shell that I was always closed up in real life. For someone as painfully shy as I am, it was an incredible feat. People got to see my hyper, although a bit strange self. And some even liked me enough to stick around! (Hehe.) I've made so many close relationships through Second Life. People who have had a huge impact on my life, who have helped pick me up when I had fallen down and people who provided a shoulder for me to cry on. I've made many friends, and I've lost many friends. I've had more then a couple of families, and I've lost them. But each and every person that I've ever had the chance of getting to know holds a spot in my life, are special to me. Even the crazy dramatic people, who have made me a stronger and wiser person. I've pretty much grown up on Second Life. That might sound a bit bad, but it's helped me. I've made mistakes, I've made hard choices, but I was able to learn and grow from these. Now that I'm starting my journey, I'm not sure how much I'll still be around, but I know that I will always have time to come on and spend time with those I love. So thank you so much to everyone who has supported me, kept secrets for me, held me up, talked to me, made me laugh, shared memories and smiles with me... You guys have made my years on Second Life amazing.
